Le Grau du Roi
Yesterday morning we arrived at the Med. and greeted by our good 'old' friends Tessa and Keith (from Tenterden days) at their new second home here in Le Grau du Roi. It's in a beautiful quiet spot just 2 mins from the beach. They are giving us a wonderful time, wining and dining us as well as taking us out and about. We've cycled all along a track behind the dunes, walked along the beach into the little town for a look around the arty shops and read lots of menus outside numerous restaurants and done a bit of bottle shopping. In between, lunch was served on the terrace. Oh - and before we went out this morning, John helped to repair the door on the garden shed - very successfully too! The sunshine is lovely and warm, but still that chilly wind.

Hi Ann and John
Life sounds really hard down there in the Mediterranean sunshine: all that wining, dining and sight-seeing with old friends! Back here we are dealing with disastrous weather, a defective car, a disgruntled mother-in-law and 2 dippy adolescents! ( I will not go into the rest of the day-to-day trauma in case in puts up off your pain au chocolat!)
But seriously, we are glad that you have found the good weather as it has definitely gone awol from here! I got drastically soaked this morning, walking to work ( in order to avoid driving the defective car!) In fact, I have attempted to do a deal with said car: in return for me leaving it in the nice, warm garage while I get soaked, it will pomise to transport me and Andy to Christ's Hospital for choir practice this pm without mishaps. Sadly I have attempted this sort of deal before, but found last time that it hadn't been listening...!)
Moving swiftly on.. we missed you at Housegroup on Wednesday, which didn't go exactly to plan. Unfortunately Mandy West hadn't received the original housegroup email with dates, venues etc so was slightly bemused when Audrey turned up on her doorstep at 8pm! I had a slightly panicky phone call from Mandy, informing me that the house was a tip, Kevin was out and that Rachel was troubled with teething pains! Being that sort of a housegroup, we all turned up anyway! Of course, the house was immaculate and Rachel smiled prettily while we had a cup of tea and a chat! So on the plus side, Mandy got to housegroup and the rest of us had an early night ( apart from Rachel, who didn't want to go to bed anyway!)
Well, enough of this nonsense. I have a lot of serious reading on the Reformation to get my head around before bravely attempting the journey to Christ's Hospital!
Keep up the posting and having fun ( we don't mind really!)
Carolyn
Hi there - we are back on line now after a gap of almost two weeks, so it is good to catch up on your holiday.
We have had plenty of chilly wind but very little sunshine. On Easter Monday we played the Kings Game in Wesley Hall whilst the rain came down outside - a level pitch (obviously !) but the sticks bounce over the jacks if you get the trajectory wrong due to the hard surface. Hopefully we will get to play outside soon accompanied by a BBQ - but currently very wishful thinking. It is Singalong With New Life tomorrow and our esteemed leader has chosen the songs to go through so hopefully it will be well attended. Dinner now calls so looking forward to your next episode soon.
Chris and Anne
sounds lovely - we are in the middle of a snow storm! just when our school holiday begins. keep enjoying yourselves.
